Our style of Sikaran is kind of a street fighting style. We practice Hand strikes and street fighting techniques but when we spar we use sikaran rules. Our Katas are (as far as I know) Panilangkas, Paulangkas, Soro-soro, Sikaran and Korean Kempo. We also practice Arnis.

Well there are only few sparring rules:
    1. Sparring is full contact w/ no armor (controled strikes)
    2. Going out of the ring loses a point
    3. no hitting below the belt.(to avoid hitting the groin)
    4. no takedowns (we have a very hard floor)
    5. Leg strikes only

Leg strikes only? Can you block with the hands?

What are the katas like? Do they look like Japanese forms, as with the Modern Arnis anyos?

Good day and its nice to be part of this informative forum in Sikaran. I am a member of Cebu City Sikaran, a small group of dedicated practitioners doing our very best to promote this wonderful art. Since our club is a member of Global Sikaran Federation, our cumpolsory forms include Balangkas 1-5, Pagsasanay 1-5, Kahusayan 1-5, Pagtatanggol 1-2 and Unang Sikaran. The patterns are unique and different from the Karate based kata that other clubs of Sikaran practice...

heres a classic example of how sikaran utilizes the Biakid. Sir Jeff participates in a taekwondo tournament. He is a 5th Dan in Global Sikaran headquarters in Delano..
