The Sikaran entry on Wikipedia surely needs some editing:
Wikipedia isn't an expert source in many cases.
I agree! This is a good example. But it's so popular a source these days that I'd think people would want their art represented in it correctly!
many groups of sikaran claim that the art originated in their area
What I see above is what is usualy posted about Geronimo or by his people or written by Mark Wiley whom printed a lot of myths and "stories" as truth (imho)
Maybe this should be in the Sikaran section not the Arnis-Sikaran aera however I think we will find the 2 are almost the same with one teaching sticks a little more
I wasn't sure of the distinction between Arnis-Sikaran and Sikaran either, to be frank. Is the former meant to refer to Datu Bong Jornales' art, formerly Arnis-Kali Sipa-Sikaran?
I believe you are correct however I to have seen the name Arnis-Sikaran or Sikaran_Arnis connected to various people in various places around the world
There is no stick fight in Original Sikaran.
Sikaran is mainly a kicking art which is popular to it's deadly biakid kick.
Does someone have a video clip of this signature kick?
It is simular to the spining hook or wheel kicks. Sorry I have no vidieo of it at this time
How to upload a clip here?
Use the full editor (the "Go Advanced" form of posting) and select "Manage Attachements" to post an attachment.
I can't post my files, i'ts said invalid files...
What type of files are they? You should be able to attach upto 2MB videos in avi, mov, mpg and wmv format.
So dont have chances to post my clip? It is 3GPP taken from the mobile phone.
I'm afraid I've never heard of that file format. I'll ask our host about it.
What do you use to view them on a computer?
Here is the clip given to me by my friend Jethro master/founder of Sikaran_jitsU in Saudi Arabia. gudluck!
Thanks, that definitely helps! Mr. Bedell, is it similar in your system of Sikaran?
