    Good times today.

We worked the "Grounded Rico" against hammer grip knife and then went into Chupacabra basics and the DeJongh Z pattern.

Class lasted 2.5 hours. After reviewing and advancing the anti-knife material from the Grounded Rico position, with the "Dog Brothers Tribal Gathering of the Pack" (r) coming up most of today was about stick grappling with an emphasis on the Grounded Rico. Final section was sparring Kali Tudo Running Dog Game and finished with some stand up sparring with me exploring my new Dracula Blitz game.

Explored further Grounded Rico with the BB from the prior BJJ class.

In today's class we had a newcomer stay from the BJJ class to train with us.

It is always fun and educational to see what an untrained person does spontaneously, so we began with him attacking with a knife.

A smaller and older guy, he went with ice pick slash in off lead with lead hand ward off. After cleaning up some things to make him a better attacker we began working on some ideas.

The second half of the class was on Chubacabra knife.

    TAC!

With the Tribal Gathering coming up today's class spent a goodly amount of time on the newly discovered variation of cruzada out of Time Machine Game.

The last portion of the class (2+ hours btw) was on mitt work for Kali Tudo combinations. KT striking hits at additional angles to traditional boxing type punches, and the footwork is quite differet-- which means the holder must evolve his skill set considerably.

Somehow we also went on tangent about natural squatting. As I got home and went to the DBMA Assn forum serendipitously this article was there:
