Does anyone know or have a list of Kombatan Black Belts?
Datu Tim I have never seen one.. I would suggest the only way to really formulate this would be to contact all the chief instructors as they will most likely be able to list the black belts under their instruction. I could list all the lakans in Australia and Singapore if that will assist.
That would be great! We did this a few years back on MT for Modern Arnis. It proved to be a great resource.
In New York going in rank order we have:
Craig Balcer - 1st Degree Black Belt
Dennis Jenner - 1st Degree Black Belt
Mike McDonough - 1st Degree Black Belt
Fern Monti - 1st Degree Black Belt
Mike Milazzo - 2nd Degree Black Belt
Bill Pavlik - 3rd Degree Black Belt
Tim Hartman (me) - 9th Degree Black Belt
If I missed anyone please let me know.
What rank are Lito Conception and Robert Castro?
I believe he got a promotion to Lakan Dalawa in Modern Arnis from Michael Bates at an Atillo Balintawak seminar as well if you want to update that info.
9th I believe. I'm not sure on Castro. I met both at the Senkotiros Sama-Sama. Both very good instructors!
Are these ranks uniform? Meaning a 1st Dan in the Philippines will have a similar skill set and ability as some one, say in Europe or in the States?
That's a question only GGM Ernesto can answer.
I do have that intel. I'm just focusing on rank in Kombatan at this time.
To my knowledge they are both 9th degree.
Oops, I meant to PM that to you, not post it for everyone. Sorry.
It's great news!
I believe he's referring to Bill Pavlik's promotion in Modern Arnis.
I'm happy for anyone who keep spreading the Professor's art! I always worry it will disappear into other arts and lose its integrity.
oh ok! Thanks for clarifying!
Currently we are 3 lakan(Tatlo)in Portugal:
Added the Aussie Lakans to the Australia family tree listing as well
Separate names with a comma.
