I am currently living in Kitchener and was wondering if anyone knew of any schools or instructors in the area. And by area, I mean an upwards of an hour drive away. I prefer a class/training partners over one-on-one training.

If anyone can provide some information I would greatly appreciate it.

    Mr. Villarico--

Try Stefan Barton Sensei at the Golden Triangle Aikido Dojo in Kitchener. He is a good stand-up kind of chap and offers a program, I believe.

Let us know if you find something to your liking.

I found a LESKAS instructor. I was at that seminar in Brantford. Good stuff. I am to meet with another instructor this week. Will update then.

Depending on how far you're willing to drive, there's a JKD school in Mississauga that has pekiti tirsia:

I don't know about any really great places around KW. I grew up in Kitchener but now live in Toronto, and there's a few (but good) places to train FMA here: - great JKD school with a fair amount of Kali - where I train, bakbakan kali ilustrisimo

Out in Oshawa there's Guro Brian Johns:

    Hope this helps.

I teach JKD Concepts and FMA in Kitchener. I have been teaching small classes in KW since 2002.

An update for you folks: I've began studying Seicho Jutsu. I began training under him in April and have continued since and will do so until work takes me elsewhere. It is not an FMA, but it does have a stick-fighting component that, in my humble opinion, is worth investing a couple months in.
