I have come full circle. Dedicating almost 14 years to Kempo and another 4 to Jiu Jitsu, I now feel like I'm home with Kali. At first I was quite hesitant to take on a "new" art not having been exposed to it since I was seven, as I felt the road was to long to travel. I quickly realized and remembered that learning is a life long process and that it is never too late to be what you could have become. I want to be able to teach my kids to be proud of their roots and culture and learn to protect themselves and those they love. And in turn they get to learn Kali's principals and philosophies and realized it is about the preservation of life. FMA has given me new direction, confidence and has reminded me that the only limitation to learning that I'd have is the one I put on myself.
