We got back to Michigan late last night (I'm sure it was even later for a few others).
I'm hoping to post some preliminary pics and a report later today.
I have all the bracket final standing but not complete names and school affiliations.
After I confir with John I should be able to post a full listing of placings.

    Top dog award

My apologies, I neglected to annouce the top dog award winner.
Most of the judges had left already when we voted but those remaining amounted to a quorum.
    It was unanimous.
For multiple reasons, that those there (especially those in his divisions) all saw evidenced:

    :laugh:congratulations to:laugh:

Looks like a great time. I may have missed this in the past but are there a set of rules and detailed explanation for the various categories online? Thanks!

    Pics

    Here's a few more pics I have.
I didn't get alot as I was busy most of the time.

I do have to thank Datu Hartman for taking over the referring duties when we reached the final division. I was a bit drained and he did a great job.

Datu Hartman and Ryan during the seminars portion.

Navadisha Martial Arts also took the opportunity to publically award a few ranks. We're a fairly private group but some things need to be done publically.

Assistant Instructor to Cole. Cole also received certification in Krav Maga.

    Its over...'til next year

The interesting thing about the gathering seminar and tournament weekend is the variety stuff you can learn from hanging out with other people practicing eskrima or kali or arnis or kuntaw or silat or whatever other art there was present that is based on stick, sword or knife. I'll be the first to admit that I can always stand to learn something new. Its just to bad that more people didn't come out to support the seminars this year. For example, Bandalan Martial Arts had 8 instructors in attendance, including GM Bandalan, Master Brent, Master Lori and I, along with 3 other instructors and 1 assistant instructor. You snooze you lose in this case, that was a two instructor to one student ratio! Hope more folks can come out next year.

The tournament itself had some great fights. It was glad to see that Jhun Occidental was still bangin' and takin' trophies back to the house. Watching Mr. Bamford's sayaw was a treat as well.

Nothing but positives from me...except...I left my gear bag unattended in the locker room during the tournament and I discovered that a pair of new sticks magically made their way out of my bag without my help. Too bad I had to find out when I needed them to teach class last week.

Aloha from Master John Cipkar and Bandalan Martial Arts ohana.

Master Cipkar, it is always an honor to learn from you, GM Bandalan and the rest of your crew. I hope to see you guys again soon and hopefully I can continue to bang with the young and old guys. Tell GM Bandalan thanks for the AMARA, I will definitely use it next time;). Take care and God Bless.
