Well, committing to travel like that always is an issue, esp. in a down economy.
eat the rich.
what?! it's an aerosmith song!
how about doing something regionl,then?
bi-annual or something.
I know what you mean about traveling.
The US is too big in some instances.
Maybe find a different host location each time?
Of course, that would mean finding someone
to take up the reigns and organize it for their region.
That way,no one place gets bogged down every time.
I think more competitive opportunities in general would be appreciated. I attended and helped with the Kali competition at the Arnold Fitness Expo this year. It was a small showing, but was a great competition. The judging was fair and the ref'ing was handled by two gentlemen who had no investment (in terms of students participating), so was also fair. Needless to say, the kali competition was a show stopper; everything in the area stopped moving during the fights. An audience member told me afterwards, that no other event "stopped traffic."
I hope more folks come out next year. Because of personal issues, I couldn't compete this year, but wished I could have. This was NOT a points competition, but rather full contact with kicks, punches (not to face), and throws allowed. The competitors were very game and it was an absolute flurry of activity. Good comraderie too.
I hope to see some of you there next year!
