Over on Martial Arts Talk I heard mention of a guy named Clyde in the Dallas area who works a Tejano blade art called Zapota. Anybody know anything about it?

Zipota is a controversial art taught in Texas but alleged to be of Basque origin--a variant of French savate. The saca tripa knife is associated with it.

Yeah, I heard of it in the context of Basque origin as well.

There seems to be real disagreement about whether it's authentically Basque or just a recent creation that is being passed off as such.
